I have strong opinions about Pinestar. I don’t like him whatsoever, and I definitely don’t think he deserved his own novella. I wasn’t interested in seeing how he randomly decided to leave his clan and become a kittypet. In my eyes, he has always been a coward and a traitor, breaking the warrior code under “a warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet”, and leaving his clanmates to fend for themselves just because he likes twolegs and only has one life left, forgetting his clanmates only have one life themselves, and could’ve died without him. Pinestar’s Choice seemed like it was just trying to get me to sympathise with him, rather than let me know exactly why he’d want to leave his friends and family for a life he’s forbidden to have. What he did honestly disgusts me, not to mention that he left his mate and only surviving son behind, which made Tigerkit/claw hate kittypets so much. If Pinestar didn’t do what he did, Tigerpaw wouldn’t of attacked Tiny/Scourge, and they wouldn’t create BloodClan, nor would Tigerclaw be so cold to Firepaw. I believe it’s likely that if Pinestar didn’t betray his clan, Tigerkit wouldn’t grow to be a murderer at all, making Pinestar the one who created the age of Tigerstar, and being partly responsible for his son’s murderers. Pinestar did not deserve to be let into StarClan, and he’s one of my least favourite characters. ♔ LEECHSHADOW ♔
